“Chambers USA”

Taylor Porter is pleased to announce new high practice area rankings in “Chambers USA – America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.” 

The law firm received honors in the areas of Corporate/M&A, Environment, Labor and Employment and Litigation: General Commercial.  Taylor Porter ranked in the top tier for Employment Law in Louisiana. Four attorneys were recognized as leaders in their field. 

Corporate/M&A:

John S. Campbell Jr. is a partner with Taylor Porter practicing law for the past 45 years.  He is a member of the Baton Rouge and Louisiana State Bar Associations, as well as the National Lawyers Association. In addition he is a Fellow in the American College of Mortgage Attorneys. His practice areas include business law, commercial transactions, financial transactions, banking law and gaming law. Mr. Campbell is also recognized for his expertise by The Best Lawyers of America.

 

Environment:

Anne J. Crochet has represented business and industry by providing regulatory compliance advice, securing permits for new and modified facilities, defending enforcement actions, and protecting interests through litigation.  Ms. Crochet is a past chair of the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Environmental Law Section.  She is a contributing author of Louisiana Environmental Compliance, a publication in the West Group Practice Series for Louisiana.  She is an associate editor of, and author of the chapter on Solid Waste Management in, the Louisiana Environmental Handbook (West Group).  She is an active member of the Environmental Council of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry, the Air & Waste Management Association, the Water Environment Foundation, and the American Bar Association’s Section of Environment, Energy and Resources. 

 

Paul O. Dicharry joined Taylor Porter in April 2005.  Mr. Dicharry’s practice has covered a broad range of environmental and administrative law matters, including litigation, regulatory and legislative drafting, contracting and compliance.  He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and is a former Chairman of the Association’s Environmental Law Section.  He is also a member of the American Bar Association and its Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources.  He is a former member of the adjunct faculty at Tulane University School of Law and has lectured frequently on environmental topics, both in the United States and abroad.  He was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® 2005-2006.

 

Litigation:

Harry J. “Skip” Philips, Jr. is a partner in the law firm of Taylor Porter.  Mr. Philips is an adjunct professor of law at Louisiana State University Law School, where he teaches the course on Professional Responsibility (Legal Ethics).  He is the author of several law review articles.  He is the former Director of Character and Fitness for the Louisiana Supreme Court Committee on Bar Admissions and has also served as a Bar Examiner and Assistant Examiner.  He is a member of the Baton Rouge and Louisiana Bar Associations and is Legislative Vice-President for the Louisiana Association of (Civil) Defense Counsel.  Mr. Philips’ practice areas include state and federal civil trial and appellate litigation, including banking, commercial, insurance, personal injury, insurance coverage and products liability cases.  His practice also includes corporate law, in which he serves as general counsel to several local not-for-profit organizations.
