H. Evans Scobee is Special Counsel to Taylor Porter and has been practicing law since 1975. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from LSU, was on the LSU Law Review while in law school, and received his J.D. from the LSU Law School in 1975. Mr. Scobee is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state and federal courts, as well as the Federal Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Scobee practices primarily in the health law field, although he has extensive experience in tort litigation, including product liability and medical malpractice experience.
In the health law area, Mr. Scobee participated in the design and implementation of a self-funded health plan for a public university, acted as counsel for a quasi-public high risk health insurance pool, and has represented clients in regulatory matters before the Louisiana Department of Insurance. Mr. Scobee has advised public and private entities in connection with HIPAA implementation and compliance. He has advised clients in connection with health-related transactions, such as the formation of entities to own and operate outpatient surgical and diagnostic facilities.
Mr. Scobee has conducted lectures on health care issues at the annual Commissioner’s Health Care Conference sponsored by the Louisiana Department of Insurance, as well as through private sponsors.
