Kiki Bergeron joined the firm in 2007, where she practices primarily in the areas of construction law and commercial litigation.  During law school, Ms. Bergeron was a member of the Southern University Law Review and was the 2006 winner of the ABA’s Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice’s first annual Gellhorn-Sargentich Law Student Essay Competition.   Prior to attending law school, Ms. Bergeron was a junior high and high school English teacher.

In her construction practice, Ms. Bergeron has represented engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, general contractors and owners in a wide array of litigation matters including breach of contract claims, delay claims, construction defect claims and claims for additional compensation. She also regularly advises clients on compliance with Louisiana’s contractor licensing laws and Louisiana’s construction lien laws.  Ms. Bergeron has experience filing and enforcing liens under the Private Works Act, and she has experience enforcing claims under the Public Works Act.  Ms. Bergeron’s most recent experience includes representing a national homebuilder in the Chinese drywall Multidistrict Federal Litigation.

In her commercial practice, Ms. Bergeron has handled claims involving a variety of issues including products liability, the New Home Warranty Act, premises liability and the Public Records Act.

Ms. Bergeron is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Louisiana.  She is an active member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association and has served as a member of the Belly Up at the Bar and Law Day Committees.
